Grilled Cheese Sandwich

IMG_4929

Seriously, grilled cheese sandwich has to be one of the easiest dishes to prepare if you want something hearty, quick and .... cheesy? It can be made with any kind bread and cheese in my opinion. Did I mention you can add as much butter as you want? Just joking, but you can add a lot indeed. I used sourdough and cheddar cheese for the sandwich plus a some blue cheese and crackers on the side just in case I want more cheese!!

Recipe
  • Sourdough bread, sliced.
  • Cheddar cheese (sliced) - or Swiss or American
  • Butter
  • a hungry tummy
Step 1 - In order to get the golden brownish texture, spread some butter on the OUTSIDE of the sandwich.

Step 2 - At medium heat, put butter into pan and let it melt for a bit. Place the sandwich in and leave it alone for 2 - 3 mins (or until golden brownish texture). Add more butter if needed and turn the sandwich over and leave it for another 2 -3 minutes. The bread can get a bit soggy during the first minute, just leave it and it will turn more crispy over the next 2 - 3 minutes.

Step 3 - Cut in half and serve when ready!

Simple right? Give it a try! Remember, add as much cheese as you want and more butter the better. You be your own judge. ^^

@Tom: yes indeed! Hard to find great cheese but if you want great dine in cheese, Caprice has a great selection, but very costly of course.
